About Us

Resident children Mary House, an organization that provides transitional housing services, shelter and support programs to homeless and struggling families, and was founded on the concept that "smaller is better." The philosophy at Mary House has always been to help others as we ourselves would want to be helped while providing a safe haven that allows for families to reclaim their dignity. Mary House is run entirely on donations and grants, and we accomplish our service and our mission through the generosity of people like you.

Mary House works predominately with the low-income Latin American population of Washington, D.C. and recently expanded its services to resettling Bosnian and Kosovo refugee families. With twelve sites in Northeast Washington D.C. and Takoma Park, Maryland. Mary House can serve up to 30 families. Expanded support services of Mary House serve an additional hundred families a month. During its twenty-five year history Mary House has sheltered and cared for hundreds of families.
