Regina Maria Apartments: A vision for Affordable Housing
In response to the pressing need for safe, permanent, and affordable housing for families, Mary House is thrilled to introduce the Regina Maria Apartments - a groundbreaking development set to address this critical challenge. With a planned opening by 2025, this project signifies a significant expansion of Mary House's commitment to providing quality housing for low-income families.
The Regina Maria Apartments respond to the urgent need for affordable housing in the Brookland neighborhood of Northeast D.C. Brookland has been a hotspot for development of new luxury apartments with over 1,000 units having been built, or in the process of being built, with one bedrooms starting at $2,100 monthly. The need for shelter and transitional housing has never slowed down. This project aims to bridge the gap by offering twelve family-oriented affordable apartments, providing a haven for single mothers, grandparents, and larger families.
Comprising six one-bedroom apartments, the Regina Maria Project caters to the diverse needs of families, ensuring that the apartments become not just living spaces but homes where families can thrive by creating intergeneration permanent residencies.
Breaking Ground: Mary House's project development team broke ground in the fall of 2022, and has since been actively working with a construction team to ensure the timely completion of the Regina Maria Apartments. Our goal is to welcome families into their new homes by 2025. This ambitious timeline underscores our commitment to providing swift and effective solutions to address the housing crisis faced by many families.
